Reshaped

Writing can be a record
Of events to be recalled,
An attempt to firmly
Mark down memories.

One may also make an attempt
To engage in fancy, to
Imagine a life not real.
Some stories are such things.

But words routinely bent,
Reshaped to fit in place,
Formed with angles not quite their own,
Such is the work of a poet.
